Macallan M Makes Scotch History

Our family cocktail hour is full of many different spirits but scotch whisky has been around for generations now as a chosen drink by mostly the gents. The word whisky comes from the Gaelic word "usquebaugh" which means water of life. It is no wonder with it's art-like creation process, the big debate over single vs. blended malt, and it's historical ties to monks who used it for medicinal purposes. Legend would even have it that St. Patrick brought the first spirit distillation process into Scotland via Ireland.
It caught our eye when Sotheby's announced that a Macallan M Scotch Whisky sold for $620,000. The 6 Liter bottle is the most expensive whisky ever sold at auction. CNN's Becky Anderson goes behind the scenes in London to find out a bit more about the history of the spirit including an explanation of the difference between whisky and whiskey.
